With fee-free banking, Amplify will never charge a member to use out-of-network ATMs. But thanks to third-party machine fees, you may still be charged a small amount on each transaction. In this ATM Fees FAQ, we explain how ATM fees are calculated – and how you can avoid costly third-party fees on your next ATM withdrawal.

Key Takeaways:

  • Amplify will not charge you for using non-Amplify ATMs.
  • You may still be required to pay third-party machine fees on out-of-network ATMs.
  • You can avoid these third-party fees by qualifying for our ATM reimbursement program or using a surcharge-free ATM in the Alliance of Austin Credit Unions network.

Does Amplify charge ATM fees?

As part our commitment to fee-free banking, Amplify no longer charges out-of-network ATM fees on member transactions. That means we will not charge you a fee to use an ATM that is operated by another financial institution. Depending on which ATMs you use, you may still see third-party machine fees – fees determined by the owner of the ATM – applied to your transaction.

How do I get third-party ATM fees reimbursed?

To offset these charges, qualified members may be reimbursed up to $12.00 at the end of each month in third-party ATM fees. To participate in our ATM reimbursement program, you must have an active checking account and maintain monthly deposits of at least $1,000.00. This minimum deposit amount will also qualify you for Rebound, Amplify’s overdraft protection program. Visit the Rebound webpage to learn more.

How do I avoid third-party ATM fees?

You can avoid third-party ATM fees altogether by visiting an Amplify branch or by choosing an ATM in our free Austin-area ATM network. Visit the Alliance of Austin Credit Union websites to find a participating ATM near you.
