If you are an Apple user, you may already know how convenient it is to manage your money with Apple Pay. Apple Pay allows you to transfer money to friends, make secure purchases, and purchase new apps or subscriptions directly on your phone. You can even use Apple Pay in stores using Touch ID or Face ID.
Unlike some payment platforms, however, Apple Pay does not require you to provide your bank account numbers and routing numbers to participate. Instead, you will be required to add your Amplify debit card or credit card on each Apple Pay device. In this section, we'll discuss how to get started with Apple Pay as an Amplify Credit Union member.
How Do I Set Up Apple Pay on My Devices?
Before you set up Apple Pay on your Apple devices, it is important that you take a moment to ensure your card is both current and active. If you have recently received your debit or credit card from Amplify, please follow the activation instructions included with the card. Once your card is active, you can add it to Apple Pay on a device of your choosing by following these three simple steps.
Step One: Open Apple Wallet
Much like a real wallet, the Apple Wallet app is designed to collect necessary card or ticket information you will need to access in the immediate future. The items you can add to Apple Wallet include credit and debit cards, plane tickets, student identification cards, coupons, and more. Click on the "Apple Wallet" icon on the first page of your home screen to begin the process of adding a new card.
Once you have opened Apple Wallet, click on the plus symbol ("+") in the top right corner of the screen. This action will begin the Apple Pay registration process.
Step Two: Add Card Type
After being shown a screen with some additional information about this service, your device will prompt you to add either a credit/debit card or your Apple physical card. Once you've selected the appropriate card type, Apple Pay will access the camera on your phone. You can then capture an image of your card and upload your card number, full name, and expiration date directly to your phone.
Step Three: Submit
Some members may be required to contact our help center to finalize Apple Play. If this applies to you, please contact member support at (512) 836-5901. Our team will review your request to link your Apple account to your Amplify debit or credit card.
You should receive notification from Apple that your card has been successfully linked in 1-3 business days. If our team requires any additional information, we will contact you during this time.
