To protect your accounts from fraudulent activity, Amplify Credit Union monitors your transaction activity to identify uncharacteristic purchases. Our commitment to fraud detection is why we encourage our members to set a travel alert online if they plan to use their Amplify card(s) outside of the primary market. What is a travel notification?

One of the easiest ways to identify fraud is location. If you live in Austin but are suddenly racking up charges on your account in Ireland, this tells the security department at the credit union that your personal information may have been compromised. To avoid having your business trip or family vacation flagged as fraudulent activity, however, financial institutions like Amplify encourage members to notify them of your upcoming travel plans.

How do I set up a travel notification?

The best way to set a travel notification is through the Amplify Mobile Card Control app. Members with an active debit card can download this app to access additional debit card features, including our self-service travel plans feature. Adding or updating your travel plans can be done from anywhere.

What if I do not have the Card Control app?

If you do not have access to the Amplify Mobile Card Control app, you can submit a travel notification to our contact center in online banking. Once you are logged into your account, click on the Messages feature in the main menu. You will then be able to send a secure message with your upcoming location and travel dates. 

If you are traveling domestically, please include the state and city to which you will be going. If traveling internationally, please include the country you will be visiting in your travel notice. The more information you can provide about your itinerary, the easier it will be to verify your purchases as authentic.

If you would prefer not to use online banking, you can also set a travel notification by calling our customer service team directly at (512) 836-5901 or toll-free at (800) 237-5087. As always, please be prepared to provide personal information before any changes to your account can be processed.
